"THE LAST SUPPER"

A Music Drama/Dinner Theatre
Based on an original idea by Andrew Krey
Conceived and created by Gary William Friedman and Thomas Mitz

The "Last Supper" is an inspirational work that tells the story of the creation of Leonardo da Vinci's great masterpiece. Actors portray Leonardo, Jesus, the twelve apostles, and 2 women. The singers express the meaning and the emotion of the action through song.

Leonardo has been commissioned to create a mural of The Last Supper. It is his first attempt at painting in 10 years. He fears he has lost his artistic vision by squandering his gifts. An angel/muse inspires him to invoke the apostles and ultimately the last supper. By discussing what each apostle was thinking and feeling at the time of crisis, Leonardo confronts his own betrayal and learns through Faith and Love that he can rediscover the vision of divine inspiration and purpose of life.

The Maritime Ministry Players, under the direction of Ralph Stokes and Leslie Coutsourridis performed this critically acclaimed drama at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 76 High St, Middletown, CT on February 17, 18, 19, 25 & 26 and March 4, 5, & 6, 2005. It was a very enjoyable event for all who attended.
